Tuesday 9am.
Dear family and friends, thanks for your support. We get such a lift from your comments on this site, your emails, your texts and your generous gifts. We pass all of this on to Nathan.
We have had a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the last 48 hours. On Sunday night and during the early hours of Monday, Nathan appeared to be at a very low point physically. The family spent the night at his bedside. However he rallied strongly yesterday, getting up at 8am to walk to the toilet! Later in the day, he insisted on walking to the front verandah, wearing a "Bring Back The Biff" T shirt one of his friends gave him. He even posed for photographs. His strength astounds us. He can still crack a good joke and often participates in meaningful dialogue, when we least expect it, and the effects of the medication allow.
Today in Maroochydore the weather is lovely. Nathan had a good night. His medication is well balanced for his needs. His pain and distress are being well managed by regular medication. We are all privileged to be able to have this time at home with Nathan. Jill, Damon, Aaron, Mirelle and Carol & Jim share Nathan's around the clock care and he is such a wonderful patient. Laura is at home in Ruakaka and working in Whangarei, which allows Damon to be here. Thanks Laura and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday!
Love to all from
