Today has been a great day for Nate, Jill, Jim & Carol, Damon, Aaron, Mirelle & Raz. Nate was allowed home from the hopsital today.
He is set up with a hospital bed, chair, monitors and anything else he needs to make him more comfortable. He has been for a fair few walks today and the trip home has exhausted him a fair bit, but he has still managed to have a great chat with everyone, and even give Shiraz a pat.
Tonight was Damons next BBQ of the month, and was a great evening together. We were all chatting about how good it is for Nate to be home, and how much more comfortable it is to visit him. During a couple of games of pool, making Raz chase her ball, and a great BBQ we were reminiscing about all things Nate.
Mandy had a story about when she first arrived in Australia and Nate had to pick her up late at night after work. She was standing out the front of a shop waiting for Nate to pick her up, when these 2 drunk guys started annoying her. Just as she started to get annoyed, she noticed Nate pulling up in the car, and Nate was watching Mandy and the drunks with a look only a protective brother would give. He opened the car door and asked Mandy if everything was ok, when she replied yes he said "I thought I would have to get out and slap them with my jandle"
We wish Nate a great sleep this evening without the stress of dealing with Dr's and Nurses constantly checking up on him.

Nathan was happy that we could all chill out and enjoy being together at the house. He has a bed set up in the lounge. Jill has the room set up nicely. He is being given IV fluids, twice a day, to replace all the fluid he is losing from his liver and abdomen. He is comfortable with regular morphine. It is great that we are able to care for him in this way. He is a wonderful patient. Carol and Jim

Laura is doing really well back here - she's a lovely girl. Betty has been spending time with her and helping her tidy up the garden on her days off.
